At the KPC and the affiliated doctoral program, treatment bridges clinical training and research. From our newly renovated facilities, wekeep informed about the most recent developments in psychological research.  In addition to treatment, all faculty in the clinical psychology doctoral program are actively involved in psychological research focused on understanding and treating clinical problems such as anxiety, depression, weight-related and eating problems, couple/marital problems, stress-related issues, psychological and behavioral disorders in children, and risk factors that predict the development of psychological problems across life.  Understanding, treating, and ultimately preventing psychological problems hinges on careful research, that is why the psychological services that we offer at the KPC are truly unique and highly specialized. The KPC serves a diverse population, including people of all gender identities, sexual identities, ages, races, ethnicities, cultures, and abilities. Our clinicians currently include people of diverse gender and sexual identities, races, ethnicities, and cultures.

Applying for Treatment

All clients will first undergo a careful assessment. We offer one-on-one treatment, couple and family therapy, as well as several group therapy programs.  Treatment is typically once weekly, although more intensive schedules are also possible when warranted.  The length of treatment varies depending on the severity and types of clinical problems. The average duration of treatment is approximately 12 to 16 sessions. We operate on a Wait List system.  After a brief phone screening process, which takes approximately 15 minutes, you are entered onto our Wait List, which allows us time to match your needs with the best appropriate therapist from our team.

Research
In addition to their clinical activities, all staff members of the Krasner Psychological Center are actively engaged in clinical research, including studies that are conducted with KPC clients.  We at the KPC have a strong commitment to research because it increases our understanding of psychological problems and helps us to develop new and more effective treatment methods.  Participation in research studies is always on a voluntary basis and in no way affects a client’s eligibility for treatment or the quality of treatment provided.
