After Hours Resources
Below are a list of resources that you can contact 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to seek help.
Emergencies:
If you or someone around you is experiencing an emergency, call for help right away.
If you are on-campus contact the University Police Department (UPD) at 631-632-3333.
If you are off-campus call 911.
CAPS Crisis Line
Students can call CAPS and speak with a licensed mental health counselor anytime, day or night. To do so, call CAPS at (631) 632-6720.
Students can also contact CAPS After Hours directly, 24/7 at (855) 509-5742. You will be connected with a licensed mental health counselor who is familiar with our campus community and local resources.
TimelyCare
Students can access 24/7 medical and mental health services, right from your mobile device or computer. Whether you're under the weather, anxious, or overwhelmed, or just need to talk to someone about how to be healthier, you will be able to talk to a licensed provider, either by a voice or video call.
Survivor Advocate and Prevention Specialist
If you have been a victim of sexual or domestic violence, contact Christine Szaraz, a confidential resource on-campus at (631) 457-9981. She can provide information on options, resources and medical care.
The CARE Team
The CARE Team is a multidisciplinary group at Stony Brook University dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for students and the campus community. It addresses behaviors that may threaten health, safety, or disrupt university activities through a coordinated, thoughtful process. The team includes representatives from various university departments, such as University Police, Student Health Services, and the Student Accessibility Support Center (SASC).
