This year, we are honoring:


Barry Rubenstein, MS

Barry Rubenstein has been involved as a Founder or primary, Series A round investor in technology companies since 1969. Mr. Rubenstein was a founder or founding consultant to several technology companies, including Applied Digital Systems, Inc. (1969), Novell, Inc. (1983), Cheyenne Software, Inc. (1983), Scan Source (1993) and FalconStor, Inc. (2000). From 1985 to 1987, he served as Chairman and CEO of Cheyenne Software, which was sold to Computer Associates for $1.2 billion dollars. In addition, Mr. Rubenstein currently serves or has previously served on the Boards of several technology companies including: US Web, Inc., Picazo Communications, Inc. (now part of Intel, Inc.), CosmoCom, Inc., Fatwire Corporation (now part of Oracle), Certpoint, Inc., Broadcastr.com, Seniors For Living, Fractal, Inc., Noteworthy Medical Systems, Opus 360 Corp., Winstar New Media and Unger Software. He is also Founder, past Chairman and current Board member of FalconStor, Inc., a publicly traded storage software company with main offices on Long island and in China. Mr. Rubenstein holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from City College of New York and an MS in Computer Sciences from New York University with course work at the MIT Lincoln Lab and Instrumentation Lab. Mr. Rubenstein is a principal of the following Venture Capital Partnerships - Wheatley Partners, Wheatley New York, Wheatley MedTech, Woodland Venture Fund, Seneca Ventures and 21st Century Communications Partners, LP. He has reviewed over 1,000 business plans in his capacity as General Partner of these venture partnerships. Collectively, these partnerships have invested over $800 million in technology companies. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the North Shore LIJ Health System, a 6 billion dollar revenue not-for-profit hospital system. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Society for Yad Vashem.
