Safety Management System

SMS Logo

Environmental Health & Safety will be launching a new comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS).  The SMS is a software database solution from Salute Safety that is designed to manage risk, ensure safety and compliance, and improve efficiency.

The SMS will be used for laboratory and research safety, hazardous materials management, worker safety programs, fire safety and emergency response, and will facilitate regulatory required training, inspections and compliance activities.

An initial focus of the SMS will be registration of all laboratory spaces and the completion of chemical inventories.  This is essential to ensure that lab hazards are identified, assessed and managed.  It is also required to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and mandates.

Listed below are some of the key features of the Safety Management System.
