College of Business Undergraduate Student Advisory Board
The Dean's College of Business Undergraduate Student Advisory Board provides a forum for undergraduate students in the College of Business to provide feedback to the Dean and other administrators in the College of Business. This is accomplished through ongoing meetings and open dialogue. The information provided by these students assists in driving change and they act as a sounding board for new initiatives.
Li Yuan Cao
Li Yuan Cao is a Junior studying Finance, Accounting, and Applied Math & Statistics.
His journey in the world of business and finance has been marked by a relentless pursuit
of knowledge and a strong commitment to personal and professional growth. Li's long-term
goal is to leverage his finance expertise to excel in the world of banking and asset
management.
James Gill
James Gill is a junior Business Management major, with a specialization in Finance
and a minor in Real Estate & Insurance. In addition to his studies, he serves as a
Resident Assistant and an at-large Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government.
He has gained valuable experience through internships at law and real estate firms.
With a passion to help others and forge a career at the intersection of law and business,
James plans to pursue a law degree after graduation.
Mitra Hussain
Mitra Hussain is a junior at Stony Brook University's College of Business, specializing
in marketing and finance. She served as an orientation leader, helping new students
transition to university life by engaging in the New Seawolf Welcome Program and activities.
Mitra is currently a teaching assistant for both Business Communications and Market
Research courses, where she supports student learning and collaboration.
Lay Fernandez
Lay Fernandez is a junior at Stony Brook University majoring in Business Management
with a specialization in Marketing. She has built a strong foundation of experience
through on-site roles, both remote and in NYC, such as a Social Media Marketing Intern
at Woke Media, a Marketing Intern at Clarity, and a Student Excellence and Leadership
Intern in the Student Engagement and Activities Department at Stony Brook. She has
developed and executed impactful campaigns in these positions, overseen campus student
life, and created content that fosters engagement and community. As a mentee in the
Diversity Professional Leadership Network, partnered with Stony Brook’s Career Center
and Canon, she has refined her leadership skills and gained valuable industry insights.
Lay’s passion for marketing and innovation underscores her dedication to leaving a
meaningful impact within the Undergraduate College of Business program.
Matthew Jacob
Matthew Jacob is a senior at Stony Brook University's Honors College and a member
of the College of Business Honors Program. He is double majoring in Business Management
and Economics with minors in Globalization Studies and International Relations, Political
Science and Sustainability Studies. He is currently a Big Sibling with the Honors
College. Matthew is pre-law and is planning to pursue a law degree following his graduation
in May 2025.
Madison Jakaj
Madison Jakaj is a junior at the College of Business, pursuing a major in Business
Management, with a Marketing specialization and a minor in Journalism. Passionate
about both business strategy and storytelling, Madison is committed to combining these
fields to help shape impactful marketing campaigns and drive brand success. Outside
the classroom, Madison is gaining hands-on experience through her role with the Athletics
Communications Department, where she helps manage the department's media and communications
efforts. She also currently holds an internship with VillageMD, a primary care health
company, where she is gaining valuable insights into the healthcare industry and marketing
strategies. In her free time, Madison enjoys exploring new music and indulging in
her love for trying different foods. She’s excited to bring her diverse interests
and experiences to the Student Advisory Board and contribute to the growth and success
of the College of Business.
Aashika Jeswani
Aashika is a junior at Stony Brook University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business
Management with specializations in Finance and Marketing, along with minors in Accounting,
Real Estate, and Insurance. As the President of Beta Alpha Psi's Omicron Alpha Chapter,
she lead initiatives promoting professional development and fostering business community
connections. She is also the Communications Intern for the College of Business. Aashika
joined the Advisory Board to contribute to shaping the student experience and to bring
forward ideas that align with the evolving needs of the College of Business. Looking
ahead, her long-term goal is to become a successful entrepreneur driven by a passion
for innovation and leadership.
Maham Khalid
Maham Khalid is sophomore studying Business Management and Economics with a minor
in Accounting. She currently holds two on campus employments: Office Assistant for
Work crew and Research Assistant for the Linguistics department. Alongside that she
is part of the 2024-2025 Diversity Professional Leadership Program with Zebra Technologies.
Maham aspires to develop a career in Accounting as she plan to peruse her Masters
in Accounting and work towards her CPA.
Francisca "Love" Morales Saldias
Love Morales Saldías is an accomplished event coordinator with a passion for motorsport
and a strong background in event management, leadership, and community engagement.
As a Senior Event Coordinator at Student Engagement and Activities, she has successfully
managed events of various scales, fostering student involvement and success. Love
has also served as a Resident Assistant, ensuring residential safety and mediating
conflicts, and co-founded the Latinos Business Association, leading initiatives that
connect students with Latino professionals. With experience as a Teacher Assistant
for Business Communication, she brings a well-rounded skill set in marketing and mentorship.
Inspired by industry leaders, Love aims to merge her business expertise with her enthusiasm
for Formula 1, contributing to the dynamic world of motorsport event management. Originally
from Santiago, Chile, and fluent in four languages, she brings a global perspective
and adaptability to every endeavor.
Taher Motiwala
Taher Motiwala is a sophomore at Stony Brook University, pursuing dual majors in Business
Management and Globalization Studies. As a member of the Advisory Council for the
College of Business and a Student Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government,
Taher is committed to fostering positive change and enhancing the student experience.
His leadership roles have allowed him to provide actionable insights to college leadership,
and represent student voices on key initiatives. Professionally, Taher has gained
valuable experience through internships in market research, financial analysis, and
client relationship management, honing his analytical and strategic decision-making
skills. These experiences, combined with his academic pursuits, have equipped him
with a strong foundation in financial planning, resource management, and collaboration. Beyond
academics and professional endeavors, Taher enjoys exploring new cuisines, staying
active through soccer, and delving into world cultures through travel and reading.
He is passionate about creating inclusive environments and contributing to meaningful
initiatives that impact both his community and beyond.
Asude Tastan
