1Dining Dollars can be added to any plan when you sign up or at any point throughout the semester.

2Guest swipes may be used to swipe in a friend or visiting family member at East Side or West Side Dine-In.

Resident students may sign up for a meal plan through room selection. Commuter and apartment students may sign up for a fall meal plan starting May 1.

Requirements for Resident Students

All resident students (including transfer students) in their first and second semester are required to be on the Wolfie Deluxe meal plan.

Transfer students who are in their sophomore academic year or above may select any of the Returning Resident plans.

Any student living in a residence hall that is not a “cooking building” is required to select one of the resident meal plans listed above. This requirement has been in place for many years, and it was established to avoid health and safety issues in the residence halls. If no plan is selected by the start of the semester, the student will be automatically placed on the Wolfie Deluxe Plan.

Benefits of the Meal Plan:

  • The Wolfie Deluxe Unlimited Meal Plan gives students unlimited meal swipes at East Side and West Side (all-you-care-to-eat) dine-in locations to enjoy restaurant-style meals every day.
  • Any special dietary need can be accommodated at dine-in, including food allergies and intolerances, gluten avoidance as well as options for Kosher, Halal, vegan, and vegetarian choices.
  • You can use the SBU Eats Goes Green reusable takeout container option at dine-in twice per day when you are in a hurry! Your first container is free! Ask the cashier at the register for your container.
  • Unlimited meal plans include 54 meal exchanges per semester for preset menu options at Roth Cafe. Use up to two meal exchanges each day!

Commuter, Apartment and Residents in Cooking Rooms

Meal plans are optional for students living in cooking rooms or on-campus apartments and commuters.

Benefits of the Meal Plan:

  • Save money with every purchase: All meal plans, including the budget (prepaid) plan are sales-tax free!
  • Grab a quick bite from over 30 different retail concepts, including Jasmine, Market at West Side, Emporium Market at East Side, Halal NY, Island Soul Caribbean, East Side Dining, Student Activities Center Food Court, Roth Café, Dunkin’, Dunkin’ Express, Peet’s Coffee and Starbucks. Dining Dollars can be used at the SBU Eats food trucks, Chatime, Halal Wayz, Nathan’s Famous, Anona, and Mr. Kim’s Hibachi food truck.
  • East Side Dine-In and West Side Dine-In offer a 10% discount on the door rate when you pay with Dining Dollars.
  • Convenient mobile ordering and menu lookup with Nutrislice!
  • Take-out available when you are on the go!

How to Use Your Meal Plan

  • Meal plans are loaded onto your Stony Brook University ID card, which works like a debit card to keep track of your meal plan funds.
  • When you make a purchase at a dine-in or retail location, please hand the card to the cashier and they will deduct a meal swipe or dining dollars from your account as payment.
  • Dine-in (all-you-care-to-eat) locations accept meal swipes and dining dollars and enable you to select entrees, sides, desserts, and beverages from any food platform within the location.
  • Retail locations only accept dining dollars. All retail locations are à la carte.

2025-2026 Dine-In Door Prices*

  • Breakfast: $9.10
  • Lunch/Brunch: $15.60
  • Dinner: $16.65
  • Late Night: $10.90

*Door Price: Patrons who do not have meal swipes may pay the listed door price during each meal period. Dining Dollars, Wolfie Wallet, and Credit/Debit are accepted.
