FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES

The Fire and Emergency Services group provides fire protection and fire safety services to our campus community. This includes our faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors on Main Campus, University Hospital and Medical Center, Long Island Veterans Home, Southampton Campus, Manhattan Campus, Research and Development Campus and the Calverton Incubator. At each of these locations, we provide the following services: code and plan review to ensure compliance with the New York State Fire Code and Building CodeNFPA, DOH and other regulatory agencies; fire safety education for students, faculty and staff members; inspection and testing of all fire protection systems; emergency response to all fires, haz-mat and technical rescues; conduct fire drills throughout the campus and evaluate performance; and offer an AED program.
