HEALTHCARE SAFETY

As a program within Environmental Health & Safety, we provide environmental, fire, and occupational safety services to Stony Brook University Hospital, Long Island State Veterans Home, and affiliated off-site medical facilities. Services provided include health and safety training, respirator fit testing, occupational exposure monitoring, environmental rounds and hazard assessments, policy and procedure development and review, healthcare sustainability, laboratory safety, hazardous waste management, and fire and life safety code review. Healthcare Safety also plays an active role in The Joint Commission management plans and Environment of Care Standards.
