EOP Financial Aid Application Process (2025-26 Academic Year)
In order for the Admissions Office to complete the review of your application to Stony Brook's EOP Program, the Financial Aid Office must first determine your financial eligibility. Class size is limited. Admissions will be reviewing applications until the maximum enrollment is met. However, in order to insure that your application will be considered, promptly return all requested documentation to the Financial Aid Office. Priority is given to applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
STEP 1: IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
PLEASE REVIEW THE SUNY EOP GUIDELINES TO BE SURE THAT YOU MEET THE MAXIMUM INCOME GUIDELINES FOR THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM. If your household size does not meet the required maximum income guidelines, you will not be financially eligible for the EOP Program. Please contact our Admissions Office for further information.
STEP 2: FILE 2025-26 FAFSA (Available December 2024):
Students should file their FAFSA as soon as possible and include Stony Brook's school code 002838. Students ineligible to complete a FAFSA due to their citizenship status will not be eligible for federal financial aid but will still be considered for EOP. If you cannot complete a FAFSA application please contact the Financial Aid Office.
Students can complete the FAFSA application at studentaid.gov
step 3: Documentation Request:
If documentation is needed, students will be notified via their Solar "TO DO LIST" with instructions on our upload process.
Please DO NOT submit any documents to our office unless specifically requested.
STEP 4: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY FINANCIAL ELIGIBILITY IS DETERMINED?
- The Financial Aid Office communicates the financial determination to the Admissions Office.
- The Admissions Office notifies you when a final admissions decision has been determined.
